Who We Are: Maine Youth Rock Orchestra (MYRO) is a 24-piece string orchestra, comprised of talented middle and high school students from across Southern Maine schools. Our students audition annually to be accepted into MYRO, with auditions based on the same requirements that are set for All-State Orchestra.

Our Concerts: MYRO collaborates with professional bands and artists for live shows, recording sessions and music videos, allowing the artists the unique opportunity to have their original music accompanied by a youth orchestra, while supporting the educational and musical experience for our students.

Our Preparation: MYRO rehearses Mondays from 6:30-8:30PM, working on our orchestral accompaniment for months prior to each concert / event.

Our Requirements for Artists: We require the artists who we collaborate with to actively promote, support our organization and it's mission, and be professional role models at all times for our students when rehearsing, interacting and performing together.

Our Accomplishments: Featured on 'First Watch' from NPR Music with The Ballroom Thieves, Consequence of Sound, DownEast Magazine's 2016 'Best of Maine' Band & the first youth orchestra in history to tour with a national band or artist.

Our Rider: (2) 24-packs of bottled water, fresh fruit and/or vegetable tray, hummus & pita.

Our Input List: (16) Countryman Isomax-2 Pick-Ups (XLR) (Can be run through sub-mix), 4 overhead condenser mics (1 per section).
